bowling better than obama

Hard to believe it'd been two months...

We were early, so we started a game without our friends. As eldest son's girlfriend was disappointed with her starting bowl, we countered that "at least you're better than Obama".

Who, if I remember correctly, bowled a 37 or 39 at some political bowling rally. In a standard game, you've got at least 22 shots to hit at least 110 pins. Knocking down less than 40 of 'em has got to be pretty poor, right?

I mean, I did better than that left-handed.

Well, we each got worse with every game. By the end of it, one of us was down to a game of 45!

Time to quit.

But still a pleasant evening. One of our friends is a good, but delicate bowler. Her rolls are gently released, barely making it to the end of the alley, much less having enough force to knock a pin into the air.

I have video of the little one-heeled flamingo dip she makes before each and every bowl. It's cute.

But after her third split in a row, we finally convinced her to try bowling with a little more speed on the ball.

Yeah. Blew her game all to hell. Gutter balls right and left, literally.

She's back to flamingo bowling.

We found the bowling alley has bought a ton of new balls. All sorts of bright new colors and sizes.

I found I can bowl with my right hand again.

So long as I only use a 12# ball.

Found out I can still play air hockey. After how many decades?

Found out bowling without loud music on the juke box is kinda nice. Because if you go bowling on graduation night, none of the high schoolers are there.

Except one, who stopped by after the ceremony, complete with robe and cap.

Just to say hi.
