Snowed out again.

Yes, it's nice to go back to bed. As tempting as it is to go out and play in the snow and mud.

The last morning we were out, as we headed back towards town, heard a radio conversation from the center of the state. Two wardens discussing the predicament of a third party.

One was headed towards the third party, "I'm pretty sure I know which lek he was trying to check."

The second was heading back to town, to "get more equipment."

The second asks the first, "Do you know how bad he's stuck? Should I grab anything else?"

Yeah. Been there, done that. Both the "stuck" part, and the "rescue" part.

Being as how I've got an injured limb, discretion says "stay home" in bad weather.

Regarding the injured limb... had a doctor's appointment yesterday. He's quite content with my healing progress. May even have appreciated the opportunity to grab, feel and press down on broken bones that he wouldn't ordinarily have with someone wearing a cast.

Me, I didn't appreciate it.

"You been working?" he asks.

Yep.

Even wrestled an antelope last Saturday. (I did not mention the snowmobile riding.)

"Okay, how do you wrestle an antelope?"

All concern about me and my wrist was gone, and we spent the rest of the appointment time discussing getting antelope out of window wells.

And no, I didn't tell him we had to kill the poor antelope when all was said and done. As the wife agreed, why ruin the tale for him?
