playing in the gutter

My big accomplishment of the day?

Fixing this:

I knew this project had been waiting since before hunting seasons, but it wasn't until checking my archives that I realized we had been putting up with a long pipe propping up the middle of our rain gutter for almost four months.

Geez.

Actually fixing the gutter wasn't that hard. It was all the sequences that had to be completed first that took up most the day. Fixing the gutter was what? An hour and a half?

Getting the Dodge jump started, and the trash to the dump, and the wing barrels out of the garage so I could get the ladder out... that took some time.

But anyway, the gutter is properly aligned now, and spews water out away from the foundation and steps like it's supposed to.

But who knows how it will work once we've got some ice in it...

So yeah, as the wife asked... I left the rain barrel underneath just the same.

Just in case, you know.

Heelers enjoyed the afternoon. Trips to the landfill are followed by double cheeseburgers (plain). And then an unseasonably warm 60-degree afternoon of sitting outside and listening to the world. And smelling it's aromas.

Waiting for your Alpha to come home.

Interesting question from the gal at the landfill scales...

"Is your dog smarter now that he's blind?"

Ummmm, how can losing your sight increase the function of your brain?

But no, I didn't ask her that. I knew what she meant. And explained that yes, she has the house and yard memorized, and follows her sister every where else.

And since I already had it out, and it was getting dark and the moon was up, and the owl wasn't talking to me any more, I tried playing with the new camera.

Not bad for a hand-held shot.
