besting boredom with a macro

Sometime around two o'clock yesterday I sat in the sun, in a hot truck, listening to two heelers panting from the heat. I'd had maybe six antelope through all day, and none for hours. The day's crossword and sudoku were done long before noon.

God, this is boooooring...

When it struck me.

It's not boredom that's the problem. It's the heat.

I mean, give me a pile of sand, a digital camera with a macro lens, and I'll be happy as a clam for hours.

As evidenced by the hundred or so shots I took in the 15-20 minutes around sunset later that day, when the heat was gone.

Including these Cleome (beeplant) blossoms, touched by the last rays of the sun...

Listening to: Julie Fowlis.
