We got our last email from Russia today (or, yesterday, now).

By the time I post this, youngest son and friends are probably on the train for Moscow. It's getting towards Monday noon, for them. A week of sight-seeing there and St Petersburg, and then home. Unless they drop in on an internet cafe, we won't hear from him again until he's in North America.

Like all his others, this email was brief. In the middle of the single paragraph was this statement:

"I'll be wanting Subway as soon as possible after getting into the U.S, so plan on that for dinner..."

Oooookay. We can probably manage that.

Quite an endorsement. But he was never that big a fan of Subway here in the States, so I have to wonder how heavy Russian food has been for these past five weeks that he is so desperate for a light, low-cal sandwich.
