worried about melanine When the pet food recall first came out, naturally we checked the list of all affected brands. No Alpo. None at all. Good. Apparently they don't get any of their products from Menu Foods. So when Menu Foods expanded their recall to larger batches of their products, again we were relieved. Not a problem for our Alpo-eating heelers. Until the wife tried to buy more Alpo Prime Cuts dog food today. The store wouldn't sell them to her. Even though the cans were still on their shelves (the only canned dog food still on the shelves, by the way). The Alpo and Purina products are also under a recall. Craaap. While Alpo and Purina do not receive any of their products from Menu Foods, they apparently bought one batch of wheat gluten from the same Chinese supplier. Contaminated with melamine. Which contaminated the batches of Alpo Prime Cuts in Gravy from their Crete, Nebraska plant (plant 1159). You have to look for batches beginning with date codes of 7037-7053. Two of our cans of food for the heeler sisters fall in that range. Craaap. The wife checked the empty cans in recycling. The heeler sisters have already eaten three cans of the contaminated batches. Crap. Crap. Crap. |
