hunting blind

A young buck at dusk last month...

And on a slightly related topic (since I was working an elk hunting season when I took that image)...

There has been a small flurry of news recently about a legislator in Texas wanting to allow blind people to hunt. Jay Leno even made a joke about it in his monologue tonight. Something about "only in Texas..."

Ummmm, folks?

Blind people can already hunt in our state.

Yes, with guns. Have a friend who took her blind daughter out for her first deer just one or two years ago.

But no, she couldn't use a laser sight. No exceptions to the rules, you know. Not exactly sure how a laser sight would help.

Now radar, that might be helpful.

But sightless hunters are hardly news anymore. Well, not here, anyway.

Maybe in Texas...
