Another day of check station duty. The last day for deer hunting in much of the country to the south.

Traffic out was fairly light, but steady. Whereas, with the major elk hunt opening tomorrow (or today, now), there was a steady stream of trucks, trailers and campers headed in country.

Perhaps when that fantasy of "free time" comes true, more will be posted. For now...

I don't remember ever crying on check station before. At least, not with a witness.

Today I did.

But by the time the next vehicle rolled into my gravel lot, I was again the cheerful greeter.

And, other than one bored fellow who basically just wanted a captive audience for his hunting chit-chat, I had a peaceful sunset to myself.
