spatches of colour Another elk relocation flight this morning. Found 10 out of ten collared elk. The gal in the southern state is moving back north. Others have been moving uphill, presumably trying to avoid the 80+ degree temperatures, and to find something green to eat. The aspen are changing rapidly now, at least at the higher elevations. Sat down to relive the experience with a slide show on the computer, with each image up for only 5 seconds. Took almost a half hour to review a 1.2 hour flight. Was shooting like crazy as we left the southern state, back into our own. When the pilot dipped us into a circle over elk number 10, it was... Oh, are we still looking for elk? "Just one more," he answered. Pegged the spot with the GPS, wrote the numbers down, and then I was back at the window, shooting at any patch of colour I saw. Suppose I'll have to save space here for an image entry. Or two. But here's one now, from our brief pass over the southern state: |
