good news, bad news First the bad news... Cloudy this morning. Too cloudy to fly antelope. With thorms (my field note abbreviation for thunderstorms) to the south. Too wet and rough to fly for radio-collared elk. So, we're rescheduled for tomorrow morning. Just one more morning lost (out of three) for classification surveys in this antelope area before the hunting season opens on Saturday. Craaaap. The good news? Most of the horrific rumbling under my feet in the outfit's truck was due to the two bolts I lost off one of the crossmembers. Easily and quickly and cheaply fixed. The rest of the problems can wait until next week, and I've already got the appointment made. But for now... We're mobile again. Should be classifying again this evening. Oh, yeah. More good news. The heeler sisters apparently no longer hate me. Both curled up and sleeping at my feet as I type. To tide you all over, a shot from yesterday morning: |
