one of thousands

I am at a total loss as to what to do about our northwestern vacation. I have literally thousands of pictures to look at. To edit and crop, and perhaps, to display here.

So many memories, large and small, that I want to get down. To keep, to remember, to share.

Do I outline them all out, and store hidden entries in this ledger for the day when I can actually flesh them out?

That seems to be a deathnell for any entry. Once marked with the "***saving space - ..." header, they all seem to be forgotten and lost.

Life is just too busy, and keeps marching along.

Or do I just throw them out, willy-nilly, as they come to mind? Hoping the best get saved, and letting the rest fall victim to human memory, such an imperfect storage device?

Like this one...

After two days of driving, complicated by an hour-long (or more) traffic jam on Highway 18 that had no apparent reason to exist (except for the road-killed raccoon where traffic suddenly, inexplicably opened up and flowed normally) we finally arrive at the Olive Garden. An hour or more late, crashing the wedding rehearsal dinner with our family reunion.

Our grand-niece, now a young woman who we have seen I think maybe three times in her entire life (not including the time she visited pre-birth), cannot wait for us inside, and is anxiously waiting to greet us in the parking lot. Before she can hug us all, the wife's brother, who we have seen maybe once in ten years, has joined her. And I try to snap a shot of the long overdue sibling reunion.

And fail, because I didn't have time to adjust the zoom on the lens.

And then again, maybe I didn't fail after all.
