cashews How do you know you have had teenaged boys in the house? When you want a snack and open the two pound can of cashews on the freezer to find... ...one half of a half of a cashew nut. A quarter of a cashew. Less than a half gram of cashew out of a 907 gram can. This, probably left by the same son who leaves one and a half chips in a Pringles can, just so I can't accuse him of wiping out the snack food. No word from the travelers yet today. Hope and assume they are well on the road. Sun is shining, there is no wind, perfect time to drive when there is fresh snow on the ground. Supposed to get ~2" this evening and night, so hope they didn't dally in college town. Heeler mom had no problems crawling into bed with me last night, but the heeler sisters have this horrible, instinctive dread about being in the bedroom alone with the Alpha male. Assume they're afraid the Alpha female is going to come home, catch them with her mate, and drive them from the pack. Had to call the masked heeler in to sleep, and she took refuge in her loft on top of the laundry. By the window. Finally, it got too cold up there, even for her and her thick coat. She crawled down and laid on my cheek. Literally. Her neck across mine, her cheek pressed hard against mine. So much for watching tv in bed. We fell asleep that way. By morning, she was on guard duty in the front room again. She misses her Alpha. |
