duct tape

A while back I mentioned my concern that the heeler sisters might accidentally open their door while we were driving down the road. Due to the poor placement of the door handle in the new Ford rigs.

In a guestbook entry, John Powers suggested I just duct tape the handle closed. Not a practical suggestion, so I assume he was being facetious, but he did direct me to the correct tool for the job.

Duct tape.

The handle is slightly recessed into the door (if it was deeply recessed, it would not be a concern). What I need is some sort of splashguard or, more accurately, foot guard, to keep hyper heeler toes out of that niche.

Duct tape it is. Reinforced with a layer of clear vinyl. Just popped off the mechanism cover, laid on a layer of tape and vinyl to cover the top half, and popped it back on. Will probably never know of this design is successful, only if it fails. But it looks like it will work.

Thanks, John.
